Brass Jump Rings
The ring measurements are nominal rounded values. Slight variations may occur. Our code numbers provide a guide to ring size - please refer to the actual id for ring size.
id = inner diameter. Since some metals spring back during ring manufacture, thus increasing the size of the id, we have listed the 'actual' inside diameter of the ring.
od = outer diameter
AR = Aspect ratio. This is the ratio of the inner diameter to the wire thickness (id/wire diameter)
AWG = American wire gauge. The gauge is quoted in American Wire Gauge (AWG) as so many patterns originate from the USA.
Jewellers brass is a gold coloured metal with the appearance of gold. It is an alloy of copper and zinc so will tarnish in time. Jewellers brass is stronger than yellow brass and costs a little more. Our jewellers brass rings are made from 1/2 hard temper wire.
Yellow brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. Brass will tarnish to a dark yellow. It can be cleaned with any brass cleaner or simply soak for a few minutes in lemon juice or vinegar. The brass used in our jump rings is 1/2 hard temper giving an excellent combination of strength and workability.
