1.
Link one ice blue ring through four o-rings. Lay out the rings exactly as shown.

step 1

2.
Turn the two righthand (RH) o-rings over and bring them around the ice blue ring so that they lay on top of the lefthand (LH) pair of o-rings.

You now need to reposition the two RH o-rings you just moved so that the four o-rings make an upper and lower row with the ice blue ring sitting at the top (refer to the RH picture).

step 2     step 2a

3.
The rings added in the next steps are shown in red for clarity.

Weave one ice blue ring through the centre of the bottom two o-rings and the centre of the top two o-rings.

The LH picture shows the weave from above whilst the RH picture shows the weave from the end.

step 3     step 3a

4.
Link one ice blue ring through the intersection of the last two o-rings of the weave (i.e. the top two o-rings) and add two new o-rings.

Flip the two o-rings just added and place them in position in the upper and lower rows with the ice blue ring at the top. At the end of this step your weave should look like the RH picture.

step 4a     step 4b

5.
Weave one ice blue ring through the centre of the top two o-rings and the centre of the bottom two o-rings.

The LH picture shows the weave from above whilst the RH picture shows the weave from the end.

step 5a     step 5a

6.
Repeat steps 4-5 until your cuff is the desired length.

step 6

7.
Bring the two ends of the weave together. The LH side is the end of the weave and the RH side is the start of the weave.

step 7

8.
Lay the RH end on top of the LH end.

Weave one ice blue ring through the intersections of the first and last pairs of o-rings at each end of the cuff, making sure that the ice blue ring is positioned at the top of the weave.

step 8

9.
The ring added in the previous step is shown in red whilst the ring added in this step is shown in yellow.

The last ice blue ring added (i.e. the yellow ring) is a tricky ring. Weave one ice blue ring through the centres of the first and last lower o-rings, round the back of the weave and through the centres of the last and first upper o-rings. Close the ice blue ring.

step 9

Variations

  • Use a rainbow or pastel mix of colours with black o-rings.
  • Try alternate colours of anodised aluminium such as ice pink and ice green with a complimentary coloured o-ring, such as purple.
  • Use a dark coloured metal ring such as red with a white o-ring.
